Are Chicken Wraps Healthy for You?

My answer to that is yes! You can really make your wrap as healthy as you want based on what you put it in. Chicken is a great lean option that pairs well with so many flavours (which is why I made 4 different kinds)

Wraps also allow you to eat from the four food groups. So you have your chicken for protein, tortilla for carbs, cheese for dairy, and a variety of veggies for fruits & veg.

When it comes to sauces, you have to be a bit more careful. If you’re looking for healthier options, mustard & siracha are great choices!

What to Put in Your Chicken Wrap?

Although I listed the ingredients down below, you can really switch up whatever you want to put in your wrap. Obviously, you need to add the chicken, but everything else can really be changed.

I personally don’t like raw onions, so I didn’t add any in, but they are a great option if you like them! If you’re trying to make this recipe dairy-free, you can also take out the cheese.

Additionally, if you’re looking for a lower carb-friendly option, you can use rice wraps instead!

What to Serve with Wraps?

For me, I always just have my wrap alone because I think it’s filling enough. With that being said- some great options for sides would be salads, fruit salad, or veggies & hummus.

4 Healthy Chicken Wrap Recipes

Korean Chicken Wrap

For the Korean Chicken Wrap, I wanted a spicy option that was dairy-free! The key to this recipe is the gochujang paste to give it a spicy & delicious flavour.

I paired it with some classic veggies like cucumbers, carrot, lettuce & avocado.

Honey BBQ Chicken Wrap

This was the original recipe I came up with. This recipe is super simple with just your go-to BBQ sauce & honey.

For this wrap, I added all the classic veggies, but I added pickles, which was a game-changer. This wrap also has cheese & finished with some light mayo.

If you plan on meal prepping this option, I don’t recommend adding extra BBQ sauce; however, you can have it on the side when you actually go to eat it. This will help keep the wrap fresh and avoid getting soggy.

Buffalo Chicken Wrap

Buffalo is one of my favourite sauces, so naturally, I had to add it to the line-up. This one is probably the easiest to make since all you need is your favourite buffalo sauce!

For the buffalo chicken wrap, the pickle is also a must, as it adds a delicious tangy flavour that pairs SO well with the buffalo sauce.

Mediterranean Chicken Wrap

Last but not least, we have the Mediterranean chicken wrap. This one is a bit more complex but equally as delicious.

For the Mediterranean wrap, the longer you let the chicken marinate, the better it’s going to be!

The sauce for this wrap is your favourite tzatziki or my makeshift sauce that’s greek yogurt, garlic powder, salt, pepper and lemon juice!
